The hip joint
The hip joint proves to be a complex structure, ensuring the connection between the femur and the pelvis. Indeed, the rounded end of the femur fits perfectly into an articular cavity within the pelvis. This union is reinforced by strong ligaments that provide excellent stability to this joint. It allows a variety of movements, such as walking, running, and bending.
The bony ends within the hip joint are covered with cartilage, acting as a cushion to absorb impacts while facilitating the smooth movement of structures. Simultaneously, the surrounding muscles and tendons help provide optimal mobility to the hip joint.
