Did you know that your joints are mainly composed of collagen?
There are several components in a joint, most of which are composed of collagen. For example, cartilage, a connective tissue found in the joints between bones, is made up of 67% collagen. As for ligaments and tendons, they are composed of 80% and 90% of collagen respectively!

From the mid-thirties, the body begins to produce less collagen, which naturally affects our joints. Stiffness in ligaments and tendons as well as loss of mobility or flexibility is often felt. Cartilage tends to deteriorate and its wear and tear usually causes pain or even osteoarthritis, a condition that is becoming very common since it affects 1 in 6 Canadians.
