At Genacol, during this period of teleworking, we all miss our little Cécile’s Nuts Squares. Here is her recipe! We are convinced that they will makes you feel good as well.

NUTS SQUARES

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. F.

First mix:
½ cup softened butter
¼ cup brown sugar
1 cup of flour

Mix all the ingredients until the butter is well absorbed by the dry ingredients.

Spread the mixture in a mold. Make sure everything is spread out equally and level gently by pressing evenly.

Cook for 20 minutes.

Second mixture:

2 beaten eggs
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 ½ cups brown sugar
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons of flour.

Combine all the ingredients and pour the mixture over the first one just out of the oven.

Bake 30-35 minutes at the same temperature.

The cooking time may vary slightly depending on the stove. Adjust for a few minutes if necessary.
If over cooked, the sugar will have crystallized more; otherwise the top mixture will be softer.

The challenge now is to eat only one square…

Watch out for the calories!
