During the COVID-19 crisis, as our habits are being disrupted and we are forced to spend all our time at home, it is normal to feel some stress from the uncertainty brought by the current situation. Nevertheless, it is important to know how to manage your stress so as not to let anxiety overly affect you. With this in mind, we thought we’d give you 5 tips that will help you manage your stress despite the lockdown.

1. Limit the amount of information consumed daily

Public health authorities keep telling us that it is important to keep up to date with the current health situation and its evolution. However, it is also important to limit the amount of news you read or watch on the web and on TV. Because information about COVID-19 is everywhere, it is easy to become overexposed to it, and information overload can contribute to increased levels of stress or anxiety.

2. Find ways to keep busy

Video calling services allow us to spend beautiful moments together, even virtually. Take this opportunity to organize a virtual happy hour with friends, or a dinner with your parents… Be creative!

5. Be physically active

It is well known that being physically active is good for both your physical and mental health. In fact, sport activates the production of endorphins, hormones produced by the brain and nervous system that contribute to a general feeling of well-being, in addition to having a direct impact on stress reduction and sleep quality. Even in lockdown, there are many ways to stay active, especially since many gyms and sports studios offer virtual classes. A simple walk outside or a little jogging will help clear your mind and avoid inactivity! Sport is also important to maintain good joint health, so make sure you keep up an adequate level of physical activity.
